Time To Play Catch Up

November 1, 2021

Happy November Everyone,

I am so far behind in writing about our travels but it's been a whirlwind of a time. Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and into New Jersey. Makes me tired just thinking about it. Especially the trip from Indiana Dunes State Park to Rocky Fork Campground in Kimbolton, Ohio, We were suppose to stay for 4 days at the Dunes, but Mother Nature had other plans. Suddenly, that bit of rain showers turned into a full blow storm, with wind gusts over 60 mph expected. Nope, not doing that, though watching Great Lake Michigan change from calm and peaceful to an angry, raging, sea was amazing. Needless to say we headed out early, will go back one day as there is so much to explore.

Called Rocky Fork and they would let us come in early, secured a place for one night, packed up and headed out. Two hours from our destination, phone rings, the place where we were planning on stopping also had torrential rains and the parking lot was flood out. Sorry, but we have to cancel your reservation. Okay, let's see what we can find. Found a place through our Harvest Hosts membership at Maria Stern Shrine, hmm, that's different. Got there in one wet piece, and listened to the winds howl and rain pour down throughout the night. Not fun. Fortunately, It stopped by morning and we were able to head out. Lot's of limbs and tree debris on the roads, didn't seem to be any thing major. Rest of travels went mostly smooth. Spent a quiet and relaxing several days at Rocky Fork, another campground we would go back to, then headed into PA.

Our stay at Gettysburg, PA, was a lot of fun as Phil and Christine took a cabin there as well. You know there are an incredible amount of monuments there and in the most random locations. Had a great time driving and hiking around. The campground we stayed at, Gettysburg Battlefield RV Resort, was the very first out of state campground we stayed in with Dexter.

And then came New Jersey, what a wonderful but utterly exhausting several weeks. Didn't get to see half of those we wanted to. Everyday bought visits or appointments. Special highlight was getting to meet our darling granddaughter, Finally. What a sweetheart little Ella is, and did she win our hearts big time. No hesitate at all allowing us to hold her. She just reached right out to us. Oh but did our hearts melt. So nice to be able to spend her first birthday with her. Adding to that joy, was seeing two of our grandsons, Anderson and Brandon. Can't believe Anderson is 14 and now taller than me! OF course seeing their parents was a lot of fun as well, but hey, let's face it, it's all about the grandchildren, LOL

While there and being able to stay in one place for a longer spell gave us time to regroup, and do a bit of soul searching and lots of open discussion. Where are we in our journey, where have our travels taken us, the exploring, the adventures, trials and tribulations, and what do we want to do next. Came to a realization that we were both thinking in the same vein but hadn't voiced until now.

So hang on for the revealing of What's Next in the adventures of Teri and Paul: What Are We Crazy???!?!?!

Sorry no photos as very sketchy internet and can't get them loaded.

And Our Next Great Adventure Begins!

Well, it certainly has been a while since I wrote anything here, and a lot has happened. As I mentioned in my last post, we had decided to ...
