Let's start with a little background. I'm Teri and he's Paul. You probably won't hear to much from Paul's perspective as, well, blogging isn't his thing at this time. We are both in our 60's and readying for retirement. I have had the dream to go FullTiming since I was quite young. My family used to go camping a lot and my dad being the friendly type, would strike up conversions with anyone we came across. I can remember being with him and he chatting with a older couple who said they lived in their trailer and traveled around the country. WOW, I thought that was way cool. Can you imagine living in a trailer and getting to go where ever when ever you wanted. That was it, I was hooked and couldn't wait till I grew up and could do the same thing.
Fast forward through the years, I have never forgotten that couple nor my dream. Paul and I have discussed it regularly since we have been a couple. Me, yeah, no doubt, I wanted to do it. Paul, well, he loved the idea of it but the reality was something he wasn't sure of. So we would talk about it a bit, go to RV shows, play the dream game. He would get on board then no, he didn't think it was want he wanted, how about extended travel, a month, two, six, but keep a house around here (New Jersey). I went along with this as, let's face it, he in my life would always be the most important thing. And I wouldn't want him go into something like that halfhearted. I never gave the dream up but put it on a back-burner.
Again, fast forward to the present: Paul will be 66 in March and will be retiring from his current job. Over the past year, he has done a lot of soul searching about what's next. We live in a townhouse in a lovely adult community, somewhere we could easily live out the rest of our lives. Is that what we want? This was the question, he had to decide. I would be content here but oh yeah, that dream was always there. About three months ago, he had an epiphany while sitting looking out the living room window. Was this the view he wanted to spend the rest of his life looking at? The other units in our complex? Was there something better? Something more?
Well, we started talking again about FullTiming and now here we are in the preparation stage of what's next.  The shedding the items we have accumulated over the years, doing the research, looking at RVs, getting our financials in order and all the rest that comes with The Big Move!  Hopefully, within the next 18 months, we will be on the road!!
Follow along if you'd like as we continue to plan, dream, shed and research. Should be one heck of a ride.

And Our Next Great Adventure Begins!

Well, it certainly has been a while since I wrote anything here, and a lot has happened. As I mentioned in my last post, we had decided to ...
