We headed out of Jackson Springs on
Wednesday and made our way across the state of North Carolina to
Kannapolis for a week filled with lots of love and laughter. Did a bit of
“Driveway Camping” at my dear niece's house. What a blast,
Dannielle and her family are just wonderful people and the week was
full of games, catching up, cackling like hens, food and fun. Got to
visit with with other nieces, Damaris and Aryn, and Damaris's son,
and was able to enjoy time with my sister, Marv. So good to catch
up, as always picked up as if we were never apart.
While we were there, Kannapolis had
its tree lighting ceremony, so in the van we all piled and headed to town.
What a fun evening and such a beautiful event. The town sure knows
how to do it right. There was a group performing Christmas songs, a train ride, refreshments and the lights. Oh but the lights! Not only
the giant Christmas Tree, but every tree in the park was lit, magical. All
around the edge were lighted stations of the Twelve Days of
Christmas. Amazing. And it was free! Well, the train ride was a
couple of dollars but still. This is open to the public till the New
Year. Every night the lights will be lit. Kannapolis sure knows how
to do it right.
I must say this stop was by far the
best camping yet and the hardest to leave. I so adore them all. So
looking forward to the next time we are here and hope they all come
to stay with us when ever they can.
Time to put a new state on the map,
Here we come South Carolina.
Enjoy the lights, fireworks and other photos!
